On the first day of my landing in Germany, I was so sad that I couldn't even really answer customs' questions. I was so homesick that I could have cried when I heard my mother's voice. I was so scared that I didn't dare to train on my own. Now I am familiar with the campus, the streets and the city and know the environment in Europe. When I look back on the first day after going through all of this, I have found that "growing up" is never easy.
During my three-year school attendance at a German high school, I flew regularly between Germany and China, and many times I saw being with my family again and then separated again. I have had experiences sitting in class and not understanding a word. I experienced what it is like to get lost in the dark at school. I have had many adventurous trips alone in France and have had many special experiences that I had never expected in the past 16 years.
The people here in Germany are nice and I never feel lonely here. When I was sick, my teachers and classmates took great care of me. When I was depressed, friends cheered me up. In class, the teachers made sure that the content had been thoroughly understood before continuing to teach. The education system here in Germany has made it easier for me to find out what I really like and to be clear about what I would like to study at university later.
I decided to study business administration and had gathered a lot of information about universities in Germany beforehand. Fortunately, my parents met Ms. Wenxin Zhang, who graduated from EBS, during the education exhibition in Shanghai. Because for me, no matter how much information I got online or from school brochures, personal experiences of a person are much more valuable. And after talking to Ms. Zhang, I was even more determined to go to EBS to begin my new phase of student life.
GEP supported me a lot with my application and gave me many useful suggestions and tips for the interview. After I got an acceptance from EBS, tons of prep work came in at once. But I was really lucky that GEP actively supported me to help me with the handling of the accommodation, insurance, etc. I even tried applying for the scholarship and, surprisingly, I even received it. I received a scholarship that covered 75% of my tuition fees! I am so grateful that GEP is always by my side, encouraging me to work harder and develop myself further during my stay in Germany!
